New Perspectives Theatre Co in a footballing fable. Is it possible? Could a humble village team really have taken on football's finest and triumphed? When an enigmatic trainer with revolutionary theories, two of the best players ever to have disappeared from football's top flight, and a chairman of Napoleonic ability all find themselves in the same place at the same time, it just might be!
This joyous tale of the unstoppable rise of the ultimate underdog is rivetingly retold in a funny and touching new one-man show - prepare to laugh, prepare to cry, and above all prepare to believe every word!

SPAGHETTI
SWING

Great music in an exhilarating show of Italian Spaghetti Swing, played by musicians with the irony and passion characteristic of 50s Italian jazz. Authentic pasta will be cooked on stage - swinging spaghetti!
The show is led by Fred Brindisi, an exceptional frontman, in the twofold role of starring-singer and refined sommelier-chef, will offer an original parade of music and spaghetti, cooked live on stage! Along with Fred, the band comprises some of the most respected jazz players in Italy, Don Gigino Sidero on keyboard, “Perez” Stefanino Paparetto on drums, Dott. Paulie J. Bone on trombone and Anidia Lollo, singer and dancer, with the special sense of humour and polish.
A further touch of colour is added by the girls in the epoch’s costumes, chorusing and dancing side by side with Fred, creating the atmosphere of that period’s Italian jazz clubs. A very entertaining show which mixes music and cooking, real Italian style!!

Wednesday, 23rd May - 7.30pm

“A theatrical tale of Olympian feats…it’s a winner!”

On your starting blocks! Vamos Theatre, in association with The Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham, presents its new production, Much Ado About Wenlock, a play about health, sports, a reforming doctor, and a runaway chicken!

In 1850, the Shropshire market town of Much Wenlock hosted its very own ‘Olympian Games’, an inspiration for the modern Games. In a captivatingly comic production celebrating the Games’ unlikely UK roots, Much Ado About Wenlock reveals a local doctor’s determination to improve the health of all. Will Dr Penny Brookes inspire the workers to swap tipple for triple jumping? Will schoolmistress Beatty win over the cynical Reverend Benedict Wayne? Will little Eddie Sankey triumph over the bullying butcher’s boy, Archibald Blockley? And will our national love of the underdog be satisfied in this heroic piece of theatre?

A glorious full mask show, with original music, physicality, and choreography, Much Ado About Wenlock is an adventure for audiences from 8 to 108!

Devised and Directed by Rachel Savage

By a happy co-incidence this performance takes place on the very day the Olympic Torch arrives in Worcestershire
